My Bookish Weekly Wrap Up – 18th April 2020

Hello! How are you doing?! I’ve taken a couple more walks in the local woods this week for some ‘green’ therapy! It really does make you forget what is going on in the outside world and I’d happily stay there forever!! Wonder if they’d notice me building a little shack somewhere  – and a separate library shack shed?!! Might be worth a try!

Have settled into a routine now which is helping me each day, being productive and getting all the boring/necessary stuff done of a morning, leaving the afternoon free for more enjoyable tasks such as reading! So another 5 books finished this week, 1 of which was an audiobook, so chuffed about that  – not so chuffed about having to write reviews for them though as that I’m finding tougher! All my words are gone lol!!  And just 2 newbies from netgalley this week – hoping to rectify the lack of bookpost over the next couple of weeks with my birthday approaching! 21 again! Yay!

Here’s my look back!!

Everything is about to change…

1789. Pierre and Catherine Aubert, the Comte and Comtesse de Verais, have fled the palace of Versailles for their château, deep in the French Alps. But as revolution spreads through the country, even hidden away the Auberts will not be safe forever. Soon they must make a terrible decision in order to protect themselves, and their children, from harm.

Present day. When Lu’s mother dies leaving her heartbroken, the chance to move to a château in the south of France with her husband and best friends seems an opportunity for a new beginning. But Lu can’t resist digging into their new home’s history, and when she stumbles across the unexplained disappearance of Catherine Aubert, the château begins to reveal its secrets – and a mystery unsolved for centuries is uncovered…

Unlock the secret of the château today. Perfect for fans of Kate Morton, Fiona Valpy and The Forgotten Village!

THE LITTLE TEASHOP IN TOKYO by JULIE CAPLIN

Grab your passport and escape to the land of dazzling skycrapers, steaming bowls of comforting noodles, and a page-turning love story that will make you swoon!

For travel blogger Fiona, Japan has always been top of her bucket list so when she wins an all-expenses paid trip, it looks like her dreams of the Far East are coming true.

Until she arrives in vibrant, neon-drenched Tokyo and comes face-to-face with the man who broke her heart ten years ago, gorgeous photographer Gabe.

Fiona can’t help but remember the heartache of their last meeting but it’s not long before the Japanese art of contentment and a special, traditional tea ceremony work their magic…

Amidst the temples and clouds of soft pink cherry blossoms, Fiona and Gabe start to see life – and each other – differently.
