My Favourite Books of 2020

We made it!! The year that we never imagined could turn out the way it did!  I’ll be crossing my fingers extra tight this New Year’s Eve in the hope that the year ahead of us doesn’t turn out the same!
But there is always books and they’ve been more important than ever, for me especially this year!  And this task of choosing my favourites from the past year never gets any easier! As of today, I’ve read just over 200 books and they’ve all played their part in keeping me sane (ish!) over the past 12 months, so thank you to ALL the authors who help us escape the world through words!!
So, this list of 20 books is in no particular order, but are just the books that have stayed with me the longest – the books that made me laugh, made me cry (a lot!) and had me on the edge of my seat!! Click on the book title for a link to my GoodReads reviews!

  1. Hallo, Hallo, Karen!

What a year wasn’t it? I can barely remember how I managed to read what I had because each month felt like an uphill climb and struggle just to connect to a story – which blessedly shows why my End of the Year Survey was so important to me this year – to just take full stock of what I read and resolve the year as a whole as a book blogger. It was such a carthatic release!

I really leant on Romance and Fantasy – I was surprised by how much wicked good Middle Grade Fantasy I read this year and how uplifting the stories & series by Harlequin Heartwarming really arrived at moments where I needed that kind of Rom to get me through an adversely hard month or week.

Off your list, I have “The Once and Future of Witches” in queue at my local library; I borrowed it late last year but ran out of hours before it was needed to be returnt from my regional library so now I’m awaiting a ‘second chance’ to read it. I did try to get “To Sleep in a Sea of Stars” as an audiobook from NG but I wasn’t approved for it. I think because I’m such a newbie to listening and reviewing audiobooks my % isn’t yet high enough for massively popular releases yet but at least I let the publisher know I was keen on it.

Here’s to a wicked New Year of blogging and reading – I hope you have another good turn of stories and characters to give you wickedly delightful hours!!
