Always a delight to be involved in a Blog Tour for Angela Britnell, so delighted to share my thoughts today for her latest NEW YEAR, NEW GUY. My thanks to the author, publisher and Rachel of Rachel’s Random Resources for putting the tour together and letting me be part of it all!
Out with the old life, in with the new …
When Laura’s bride-to-be sister, Polly, organises a surprise reunion for her fiancé and his long lost American friend, Laura grudgingly agrees to help keep the secret. And when the plain-spoken, larger-than-life Hunter McQueen steps off the bus in her rainy Devon town and only just squeezes into her tiny car, it confirms that Laura has made a big mistake in going along with her sister’s crazy plan.
But could the tall, handsome man with the Nashville drawl be just what reserved Laura Williams needs to shake up her life and start something new?

MY REVIEW
Hunter – swoon!!! 😍 I could just let that be my review!! But I won’t!
I’ve adored spending time in the company of Hunter and Laura – thrown together as she ‘babysits’ him ahead of her sisters’ wedding. He’s the surprise guest from America, and when she’s told about her assignment she’s not too pleased! But she wants her sister to be happy so is a good host, and ‘hides’ him at her house until the big day.
They are very different personalities – she’s very reserved and guarded, he’s not backward in coming forward but is really sweet and funny, but you do get the sense he’s hiding something as he’s a little edgy at times and doesn’t seem comfortable in certain situations.
I loved seeing how they spent time -she introduces him to lots of British things and he seems to find the more time he spends with Laura, the more he begins to relax.
Both Laura and Hunter seem to be troubled by their pasts and I really loved seeing how having support helped them both confront those demons and find a little bit of peace.
This is a story full of heart and humour, it’s emotional and endearing and I highly recommend it!
